Symbols + Numbers

Sym­bols and num­bers may under­lie the very fab­ric of our reality.

On the play­ground as a young girl I fell off a swing and was knocked uncon­scious. Num­bers and sym­bols cas­cad­ed before my eyes.  And then I woke up.

Man is in need of a sym­bol­ic life — bad­ly in need. We only live banal, ordi­nary, ratio­nal, or irra­tional things … but we have no sym­bol­ic life. Where do we live sym­bol­i­cal­ly? Nowhere except where we par­tic­i­pate in the rit­u­al of life…

When one lives sym­bol­i­cal­ly every event can be viewed through an arche­typ­al lens — reveal­ing an under­ly­ing order and mean­ing. Life tru­ly becomes a sacred experience.
